Job summary

Eurofins USA Discovery Services in San Diego is seeking a Scientist I to support cell-based screening operations. You will work with automation platforms, plate readers, and analytical tools to drive large-scale screening campaigns.

The role involves leading assay sets, coordinating cross-site efforts, maintaining cell lines, and data management using Spotfire and Excel. A BS in biological sciences with 2–5 years of relevant lab experience is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in biological sciences with 2-5 years of relevant experience; experience in operations-type screening lab maintaining mammalian cell lines is required.
• Experience with data management and databases; assay troubleshooting.
• Skilled in mammalian cell culture, assay design, execution, and analysis; proficient in data management software.
• Excellent communication and scheduling skills.
• Ability to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Screen cell-based assays in an operations setting with plate reader and automation.
• Lead assigned assay sets and schedule weekly assays with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate multiple projects including large-scale safety pharmacology panels and HTS campaigns.
• Maintain 25+ cell lines and provide ready cells for screening.
• Manage bulk vial inventory to sustain business continuity.
• Support compound management using acoustic dispensing.
• Optimize screening assays to improve turnaround time (TAT).
• Coordinate cross-site screening facility efforts.
• Set up training and curate SOPs and QC.
• Analyze screening results and perform data QC using Spotfire or similar.
• Maintain records for all assay work.
