Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of construction experience.
• Or associate degree with 3 years of construction experience.
• NCDOT construction inspection experience required.
• Active materials testing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections of roadways, bridges, utilities, erosion control and other components to verify compliance with drawings and NCDOT standards.
• Identify discrepancies, defects, or non-compliance issues and report them promptly.
• Maintain detailed daily records on an iPad and generate inspection and test reports.
• Perform materials testing on soil, asphalt and concrete as part of QA.
• Collaborate with NCDOT staff, contractors and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Monitor and enforce safety protocols on construction sites and communicate updates.
