Job summary

GRAEF is looking for an FDOT CEI Sr. Inspector to join their team for various transportation projects in the NW Florida region. Job description

GRAEF has a new opportunity for an FDOT CEI Sr. Inspector that will be able to work on a variety of transportation projects in the NW Florida region. The position may be based anywhere in the Florida Panhandle.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a proven career performing the duties of a CEI Sr. Inspector on a variety of transportation projects in the NW Florida region. The FDOT CEI Sr. Inspector will report remotely to the Orlando office.

Responsibilities

• Perform work on projects in the NW Florida region under the general supervision of the CEI Construction Engineer and/or Project Administrator.
• Conduct highly complex technical assignments in construction layout, including making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
• Complete daily construction reports manually or electronically and review inspector reports for work performed, labor, equipment, and material quantities.
• Perform and review material testing of concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
• Confirm that materials meet specifications.
• Inspect and verify construction work in process to ensure compliance.
• Resolve quantity disputes with contractors and ensure plan and contract conformance.
• Provide opportunities to train and mentor less experienced employees.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree is considered a plus.
• Minimum of 4 years proven engineering inspection experience on bridge and/or roadway projects.
• Ability to perform work in the NW Florida region.
