Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. seeks a CEI Inspector (DOT) to perform technical assignments including inspection of roadway and bridge construction activities, oversight of contractor operations, materials sampling and verification testing, plan reading, field surveying, and construction engineering computations.

Will monitor progress, verify work, and assist with pay estimates. Responsibilities include inspecting construction work, conducting field tests, and assisting the Senior Inspector.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in construction inspection.
• 1 year in roadway and/or bridge construction.

What We're Looking For:

Barge is looking for a CEI Inspector to perform technical assignments including inspection of roadway and bridge construction activities; oversight of contractor daily operations; performing materials sampling and verification testing; plans reading; field surveying and construction engineering computations. Monitor construction progress, verify work completed and assist with construction pay estimates and senior inspector responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect construction work.
• Conduct field tests.
• Assist Senior Inspector.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in construction inspection.
• 1 year in roadway and/or bridge construction.

Ideal candidate shall possess the following Qualifications/Certifications:

• OSHA 10 Safety Training Construction (All field personnel).
• TDOT: Asphalt Roadway Paving Inspector.
• Class 1 Concrete Technician.
• Asphalt Plant Tech Certification.
• Soils and Aggregate Technician.
• TDEC: EPSC Level 1 - For inspectors conducting EPSC inspections.
• EPSC Level 2 - For supervisors of EPSC inspections.
• Nuclear Gauge Training.
• Work Zone Traffic Control and Flagger.

Candidates that possess some, but not all, of the above are eligible for employment consideration provided said certifications can be obtained within six months.
