Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is seeking a CEI Inspector to support our Southwest Region, based in New Orleans, LA, with additional consideration for Baton Rouge, Monroe, and Shreveport, LA.

The role requires at least 1 year of progressive inspection experience and involves field inspections, plan reviews, and daily diary maintenance. You will coordinate with contractors and owners, monitor safety and quality, and help resolve issues to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of progressive inspection level experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform moderate physical activity including walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and standing
• Must be able to work nights and weekends as required
• Must apply safety philosophy and program to all operations
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have a satisfactory MVR

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections for compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications
• Test materials and review plans to ensure conformance
• Maintain daily diaries and resolve constructability issues to mitigate delays
• Monitor contractor activities and review test reports for quality and safety
• Document pay records and perform construction calculations
• Advise on plan revisions or contract adjustments to improve delivery and safety
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and site owners to minimize delays and maximize progress
