Job summary

CDM Smith’s CEI team is seeking an inspector to monitor construction activities at project sites, including roadway, bridges, drainage, erosion and traffic categories. The role requires detailed inspections and clear documentation of findings to ensure conformance with plans and specifications.

You will work on-site at multiple project locations, with opportunities to gain real-world experience and contribute to project success.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or national bodies (ACI/NICET) may be required by client.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• 6 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel 20%–40% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to verify materials and construction conform to plans and specs.
• Use appropriate equipment and perform calculations for inspection tasks.
• Work under supervision appropriate to knowledge level.
• Review drawings and prepare for inspections.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
