Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Clinical Documentation Quality Improvement (CDQI) Specialist to elevate medical record documentation quality. You will review inpatient records, collaborate with physicians to ensure accurate DRG-based reimbursement, and educate caregivers on documentation importance to support precise coding.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of CDI and clinical experience, hold an RN license with a BSN, and possess CCDS or CDIP certification.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CDI experience in healthcare settings.
• 3+ years of clinical experience in an academic medical center or equivalent.
• Must hold an RN license and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• CCDS or CDIP certification is required.
• Must pass a CDI skills competency assessment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely, accurate documentation reviews for inpatient records.
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure appropriate documentation and accurate DRG-based reimbursement.
• Educate clinicians on documentation requirements to improve specificity and coding accuracy.
• Query physicians for missing or unclear health record documentation to obtain necessary details.
• Maintain daily production logs and track cases reviewed, queries, and responses.
• Follow guidelines to ensure compliant coding and documentation practices.
• Protect patient confidentiality and meet production and quality metrics.
