Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Clinical Documentation Quality Improvement (CDQI) Specialist to elevate medical record documentation and coding accuracy. You will review inpatient records, engage with physicians, and ensure clear documentation to support DRG-based reimbursements.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years CDI experience, 3+ years clinical work in an academic medical center, an RN license with a BSN, and CCDS/CDIP certification.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CDI experience.
• 3+ years of clinical experience in an academic medical center.
• RN license and Bachelor's in Nursing are required.
• CCDS or CDIP certification is required.
• Must be able to accommodate a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records for documentation accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure appropriate reimbursement and clinical severity for DRG-based patients.
• Educate clinicians on documentation to improve coding specificity and accuracy.
• Follow AHA guidelines and coding clinics for compliant documentation.
• Query physicians for missing or unclear documentation and maintain production logs.
• Ensure confidentiality and meet production and quality metrics.
