Qualifications

Governor Polis announced on May 4, 2023 that this classification (if working within a 24/7 facility) is eligible for non-base building temporary pay of 2.8% through June 2025.

Description Of Job

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides professional mental health services to inmates, including evaluations, assessments, and interventions;
  • Ensures accurate documentation of mental health needs levels;
  • Provides group, individual, and crisis therapy, participating in 24-hour mental health on-call rotation;
  • Handles emergency and non-emergency inmate transfers for mental health needs;
  • Provides clinical guidance to non-clinical staff;
  • Ensures continuity of care through proper referrals and documentation;
  • Documents all interactions accurately and timely;
  • Monitors inmate treatment and addresses concerns;
  • Maintains safety and security in the clinical environment;
  • Reports safety violations and participates in training, including self-defense courses.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy from an accredited institution, with transcripts attached;
  • Valid permit or license from Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies in relevant mental health field.

Preferred Qualifications include advanced degrees, licensure eligibility, and correctional mental health experience.
