Job summary

SpaceX seeks a Software Engineer for CDN development within Starlink in Hawthorne, CA. You will design and build a scalable CDN, optimize network traffic, and contribute to a world‑scale satellite internet platform.

You’ll work on distributed systems, performance metrics, and real‑time operations with a mission to connect billions globally. The role requires strong C/C++/Rust skills, knowledge of networking, and experience with large‑scale systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or other STEM discipline or 2+ years of software development experience in lieu of a degree.
• Software development experience in C, C++, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale a new Content Delivery Network (CDN) for Starlink.
• Build robust, responsive, and scalable distributed systems.
• Develop tools and alerting to diagnose, operate, and maintain complex systems in real-time.
• Design algorithms to optimize hardware utilization and cost efficiency.
• Implement systems that shape traffic across multiple CDNs.
• Lead architecture, design, and code reviews.
• Develop prototypes and experiments for future concepts.
