Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a CDN Platform Engineer to design, implement, and operate a multi-CDN environment for enterprise apps from Dearborn, MI. The hybrid role emphasizes automation, self-service provisioning, and secure edge delivery.

You will own CDN strategy, lead migrations, and collaborate with application, network, and security teams to improve reliability and performance. Remote options are considered for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing enterprise CDN platforms including Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, Google Cloud CDN, Google Media CDN, or similar technologies.
• Experience configuring, deploying, and managing CDN properties, landing zones, traffic routing, and edge delivery services across multiple CDN providers.
• Strong understanding of DNS, GTM, CNAME chaining, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, TLS/SSL, caching policies, and edge computing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner and SME for enterprise CDN technologies across multiple providers.
• Lead the transformation from legacy vendor-managed CDN to a modern Multi-CDN architecture.
• Build self-service capabilities within the internal developer portal to accelerate onboarding and provisioning.
• Execute complex global CDN migrations while enforcing enterprise standards and governance.
• Lead RCA for critical production incidents and participate in on-call rotations with automated remediation.
• Maintain reliability via proactive monitoring, alerting, incident prevention, and performance optimization.
• Define and track CDN-specific SLOs and SLAs.
• Evaluate emerging CDN technologies and performance optimization techniques.
