Job summary

HTC Global Services, Inc. is seeking a CDN Platform Engineer to design, implement, and operate enterprise CDN platforms across multiple providers. This hybrid role supports large-scale, customer-facing applications with on-site requirements one day per week.

You will lead complex CDN migrations, establish SLOs/SLAs, and mentor engineers while modernizing content delivery across global environments. Strong expertise in DNS, HTTP protocols, Terraform, Ansible, and API-driven tooling is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing enterprise CDN platforms (Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, or Google Cloud CDN).
• Deep understanding of DNS, GTM, CNAME chaining, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, TLS/SSL, caching headers, and edge computing.
• Experience configuring and maintaining landing zones and properties across major CDNs (Akamai, Cloudflare, Google Media CDN, GCP Cloud CDN, Fastly).
• Experience building modular Terraform configurations and Ansible playbooks for CDN provisioning, origin mappings, WAF rules, and Bot management.
• Experience building API-driven self-service capabilities and plugins for an internal developer portal (Backstage).
• Experience writing front-end components in React and backend APIs in Python (FastAPI/Flask) or Java.
• Experience implementing GitOps pipelines with Tekton and GitHub Actions.
• Experience publishing management APIs via Apigee and working with OpenAPI and 42Crunch security scans.
• Experience building telemetry pipelines and dashboards with Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana.
• SaaS experience.

Overview / Summary

The CDN Platform Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and operational reliability of enterprise Content Delivery Network (CDN) platforms supporting large-scale, customer-facing digital applications. This role drives secure and highly available content delivery by managing CDN configurations, caching strategies, traffic routing, and edge security controls across distributed environments.

This is a hybrid role; remote candidates will be considered with one day per week onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for CDN technologies, partnering with application, network, and security teams to implement scalable solutions.
• Build self-service capabilities within an internal developer portal.
• Execute complex global CDN migrations and enforce enterprise standards.
• Lead the technical transformation of global content delivery strategy and the CDN Center of Excellence (CoE), transitioning from a vendor-managed legacy model to a modern, automated Multi-CDN ecosystem.
• Lead technical root-cause analysis (RCA) for high-priority production incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
• Develop automated remediation scripts to prevent recurring issues.
• Maintain high system reliability through proactive monitoring and incident prevention.
• Establish and track CDN-specific SLOs/SLAs and implement alerting and proactive remediation.
• Evaluate emerging CDN technologies, tools, and performance optimization techniques.
• Mentor and train internal systems and automation engineers.
• Develop internal documentation, playbooks, and training materials to enhance team capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing enterprise CDN platforms, including Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, or Google Cloud CDN.
• Deep understanding of DNS, GTM, CNAME chaining, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, TLS/SSL, caching headers, and edge computing.
• Direct experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining landing zones and properties across Akamai, Cloudflare, Google Media CDN, GCP Cloud CDN, and Fastly.
• Experience developing modular, production-grade Terraform configurations and Ansible playbooks to automate CDN provisioning, origin mappings, WAF rules, and Bot Management policies.
• Experience building API-driven self-service capabilities and custom plugins for an internal developer portal built on Backstage.
• Experience writing front-end web components in React and backend APIs using Python (FastAPI/Flask) or Java.
• Experience building and maintaining declarative GitOps deployment pipelines using Tekton (Pipeline-as-Code) and GitHub Actions.
• Experience publishing management APIs via Apigee and working with OpenAPI standards and 42Crunch security scans.
• Experience building telemetry pipelines and centralized dashboards using Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana.
• SaaS experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically GCP Cloud Run, GCP Transcoder API, and GCP OpenShift/GKE clusters.
• Experience configuring CDN layers in front of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM / AEMaaCS).
