Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies seeks an Operator Truck Driver - Heavy to operate tractor-trailers and other heavy equipment at project sites. You will load, move, and secure materials, perform safety checks, and maintain equipment in a high‑safety environment.

CDL with passenger endorsement and NCCER certifications are required. The role values experience in heavy equipment operations, DOT compliance, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum years of working experience as a Truck driver or similar position.
• Copy of Medical Examiner's Certificate on file before operation begins.
• CDL with the appropriate endorsement is required when operating on public roads.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background check, drug screen and motor vehicle records search.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial trucks or tractors to move materials in a warehouse, yard, factory, construction site, or similar location.
• Drive a tractor-trailer or 26,000+ GVW truck; inspect load for accuracy and move it safely to destination.
• Load, unload, and secure materials using lifting devices; ensure loads are safe and properly weighed.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment; keep safety gear and tools in good condition.
• Follow safety procedures, report hazards, and participate in safety programs and pre-job planning.
