Job summary

Waste Management (WM) is seeking CDL-A or CDL-B truck drivers to operate heavy-duty vehicles across residential, commercial, and roll-off routes. You will load, transport, and unload waste or recyclables, maintaining safety and completing end-of-day paperwork.

Qualifying candidates have a CDL with air-brake endorsements, at least 1 year of driving experience (military considered), are 18+, and pass pre-employment screening. On-the-job training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or
• 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
• Successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical
• CDL Class A with an air-brake endorsement or CDL Class B with an air-brake endorsement
• High School Diploma or GED (accredited)

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA and DOT requirements
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and documents checks
• Reports unsafe situations or service-related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch
• Attends scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings
• Works with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies
• Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries or property damage
• Notifies Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions
• Communicates customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch
• Completely dumps all receptacles and leaves the location clean and debris-free
• Follows route assignments and completes end-of-day documentation and checkout
• Performs all duties as scheduled and assists other drivers as needed
