Job summary

Southway Crane & Rigging, Inc. is seeking a CDL Truck Driver for the Chattanooga/Ringgold, GA area. The role requires loading/unloading cargo, long-distance deliveries, and strict adherence to safety and road laws.

The candidate must pass a background check and drug test and complete an on-site skills verification test before hire. We offer a competitive salary and benefits including health, paid vacation, per diem, and the opportunity for overtime hours.

Qualifications

• Must have a current state issued Class A CDL Driver's License (No Automatic Endorsement).
• 3 years of commercial driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo.
• Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
• Take orders for new deliveries and drive long distances.
• Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Keep a log of their activities.
• Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order

Summary:

Candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience. You must be able to pass a background check and drug test. All candidates will perform a skills verification test on site before hire.

• Ability to work at heights and use all PPE required for fall protection correctly.

• Bending, stooping, lifting, seeing hearing, walking, ability to lift 75 lbs., twisting, crawling, climbing, squatting, kneeling, sitting and standing.
• Eyesight sufficient for operating a motor vehicle, inspection of equipment, and completion paperwork.
• Hearing sufficient for telephone contact and interpersonal communication with Customers and coworkers.
