Southway Crane & Rigging in Byron, GA is seeking an experienced full-time Heavy Haul Truck Driver to join our Macon-area operations. The role requires a valid CDL A and the ability to pass a background check and drug test.

On-site skills verification is conducted before hire, with opportunities for overtime. Responsibilities include loading/unloading cargo, recording cargo details, taking deliveries long distances, fueling, cleanup, and reporting incidents.

Qualifications

• Must have a current state issued Class A CDL Driver's License.
• 3+ years of driving experience preferred.
• Candidates must pass a background check and drug test.
• On-site skills verification test before hire.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo.
• Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
• Take orders for new deliveries and drive long distances.
• Fuel the truck, clean the vehicle, and wash windows.
• Report incidents to a dispatcher.
• Monitor road conditions and traffic.
• Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures.
• Inspect trailer before and after trips and note defects.
• Keep a log of activities and report mechanical issues.
• Maintain truck and equipment in good working order.

Position: Heavy Haul Truck Driver

Location: Macon

Reports to: Branch Manager

Southway is looking to add experienced full-time truck drivers to our growing Branch. The following are a list of requirements; You must meet all the requirements below to be considered for this position.

Summary:

Candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience. You must be able to pass a background check and drug test. All candidates will perform a skills verification test on site before hire.

Responsibilities:

• Load and unload cargo.
• Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
• Take orders for new deliveries and drive long distances.
• Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Keep a log of their activities.
• Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order

QualificationsQualifications:

• Must have a current state issued Class A CDL Driver's License.
• 6 months - year experience

• Hearing sufficient for telephone contact and interpersonal communication with Customers and coworkers.
