Job summary

Southway Crane & Rigging, Inc. seeks an experienced full-time CDL Truck Driver to join our Chattanooga/Ringgold, GA branch. You will load/unload cargo, take long-distance deliveries, and report to a dispatcher while keeping equipment in top condition.

Applicants must have a current Class A CDL, 3 years of commercial driving experience, and pass background and drug testing. On-site skills verification and strong English communication are required for the role.

Qualifications

• Must have a current state issued Class A CDL Driver's License (No Automatic Endorsement).
• 3 years of commercial driving experience.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug test.
• All candidates will perform a skills verification test on site before hire.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo.
• Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
• Take orders for new deliveries and drive long distances.
• Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Keep a log of their activities.
• Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
