General Description

Northeast Paving seeks CDL Drivers for Bangor, Lewiston, and Hancock locations. The CDL Driver is a skilled, hourly-rated position responsible for safely transporting asphalt/concrete loads to and from pour sites, among other duties, adapting to work flow needs.

Key Duties

• Valid Class "A" CDL license and driving record within MVR policy guidelines.
• Tanker/HAZMAT endorsement is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with safe operation of construction/paving equipment.
• Responsible for safe loading and unloading of construction and paving equipment.
• Willing to work day or night shifts.
• Knowledge of USDOT & FMCSA safety regulations.
• Perform daily safety checks and vehicle inspections.
• Notify supervisor of vehicle repairs.
• Experience with airbrakes and standard transmissions.
• Drive trucks with various trailer combinations.
• Maintain DVIR logs.
• Calculate weights to comply with DOT permits.
• Knowledge of FMCSA cargo securement rules.
• Carry a current medical examiners certificate (FMCSR part 391.41).
• Perform incidental tasks across crafts.
• Operate water tankers, flatbeds, or other commercial vehicles as licensed.

Qualification Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3-5 years of relevant industry experience required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds personally and assisting with heavier loads.
• Manual dexterity for securing cargo.
• Constant alertness in construction environments.

Work Environment

• Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Exposure to noise, grease, dust, and proximity to heavy machinery.
• Work near high traffic and construction zones.
