Job summary

Van Eerden Foodservice in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to help shape our new Fort Wayne operation and ensure our drivers and customers receive exceptional service.

In this role you will lead staffing, training, and performance reviews, ride with drivers to spot improvements, and ensure DOT compliance, logs, and safety standards are met. You’ll partner with the Safety Director to investigate incidents and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Class A CDL with Doubles Endorsement and current medical card.
• Pass DOT drug screen and background check.
• Experience leading teams in transportation or logistics preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, supervise, and discipline drivers as needed using coaching and counseling.
• Ride with drivers or meet them en route to identify efficiency, safety, quality, and service improvements.
• Ensure DOT compliance for drivers, including logs, drug testing, hours of service, and equipment checks.
• Investigate accidents with Safety Director and complete reports.
• Improve driver performance in safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability to meet goals.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance and use Vehicle Condition Reports.
• Complete injury reporting for work-related incidents.
• Conduct annual driver performance reviews.
• Resolve transportation-related customer issues promptly.
