Job summary

Van Eerden Foodservice recently opened a new Fort Wayne facility and seeks a Transportation Supervisor to help shape operations from day one. You will supervise drivers, ensure DOT compliance, and partner with Safety to investigate incidents, driving improvements in safety, efficiency, and service.

The role requires a CDL-A with Doubles Endorsement, medical card, and strong leadership and communication skills. Local travel and hands-on coaching are expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with a Doubles Endorsement and current medical card.
• Able to pass a DOT drug screen and background check.
• Leadership experience and strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with foodservice delivery techniques and routing systems.

Responsibilities

• Staffing duties including hiring, training, supervising, and disciplining up to termination.
• Ride with drivers or meet en route to identify efficiency, safety, quality and service improvements.
• Ensure DOT compliance for all drivers (logs, drug testing, hours of service, equipment).
• Investigate accidents with Safety Director and complete follow-up reports.
• Improve driver performance in safety, quality, and reliability to meet goals.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and issues reported via Vehicle Condition Reports.
• Complete injury reports and investigations for work-related injuries.
• Conduct annual driver performance reviews.
• Investigate and resolve transportation-related customer issues.
