Job summary

Republic Services in the United States is seeking a Driver Trainee who will be trained to obtain a CDL and then advance to a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off segments. The program provides classroom study, on-road training, and resources to pass the CDL examination.

Upon CDL completion, you will complete 12 months of employment and begin performing driver duties on assigned routes, with emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete Republic Services’ CDL training program, including classroom study, on-route training, driving experience and CDL exam prep.
• Complete twelve full months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation inspections and report safety issues.
• Learn to operate heavy trucks on designated routes and service customers as assigned.
• Learn to load, unload, and dispose of waste following safety policies.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and monitor waste quality.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and clean the packer blade and truck body on disposal trips.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• After CDL, perform all Driver responsibilities in one of the company lines of business.
