Job summary

Republic Services is offering a Driver Trainee program in Edwardsville, IL. Trainees will complete a comprehensive CDL training program and gain a truck loan and classroom/on-route training to pass the CDL exam.

After earning a CDL, the incumbent moves into a Driver role within Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off lines and completes a 12-month employment period with the company.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete CDL training program including classroom and on-route driving.
• Work 12 months after CDL is earned to continue as a Driver.
• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections per policy.
• Identify safety issues and report them via standard reports.
• Operate heavy/ commercial trucks on designated routes to serve customers.
• Load/unload materials as required and follow safety policies.
• After CDL, perform responsibilities as a Driver in one of the business lines.
