Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver Trainee in Mt. Vernon, IL, to complete a CDL training program and transition into a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll-Off divisions.

The program includes classroom study, on-road training, and a loaned truck to prepare for the CDL examination. Successful candidates must complete 12 months of employment after CDL approval and comply with all safety procedures while serving customers on assigned routes.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial driver’s license.
• Willing to travel for training and company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete the CDL training program.
• Complete 12 months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections.
• Safely operate a heavy or commercial truck on designated routes and dispose of materials.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
