Job summary

Clark State College seeks an instructional leader to train students across classroom, driving range, yard and on-road environments. You will monitor progress, prepare evaluations, and maintain records while coordinating adjunct trainers to meet training volume.

Responsibilities include scheduling yard and road training, CDL and DOT testing, and ensuring equipment readiness. A high school diploma or GED, plus Class A CDL, are required, with prior training experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a Class A CDL and Ohio instructor license.
• Prior training experience preferred.
• Completion of 40 hours pre-service training.
• Knowledge of CDL and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Instruct in classroom, driving range, yard and on the road using standard procedures.
• Evaluate student progress and skill attainment.
• Schedule and conduct yard/road training, CDL and DOT testing.
• Maintain student records per State of Ohio regulations.
• Maintain daily log books and attendance records.
• Evaluate learning progress against objectives.
• Determine supplies and equipment needs for classrooms and driving range.
• Ensure preventative maintenance on equipment is completed.
• Assist in selection, testing and orientation of new trainers.
• Participate in committees and advisory boards.
• Maintain neat and professional appearance.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
