Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a Certified CDL Trainer to train, mentor, and evaluate CDL drivers to ensure safe, efficient operations and DOT compliance.

The role supports driver onboarding, ongoing development, and a strong culture of safety and operational excellence across the fleet. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel training, ride-alongs, and performance coaching; you will review certifications, maintain training records, and assist with safety

Qualifications

• Must have valid CDL Class A and clean driving record.
• 2–5 years of commercial driving experience in transportation or package delivery.
• Certified CDL Trainer certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• JJ Keller Driver Trainer certification and safety training completed.
• Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom, hands-on, and behind-the-wheel training for CDL drivers.
• Train drivers on DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety policies.
• Conduct ride-alongs, road evaluations, and driver assessments.
• Provide coaching and corrective training on incidents and hours of service.
• Assist onboarding and orientation of newly hired drivers.
• Monitor driver performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain training records, certifications, evaluations, and compliance documents.
• Support safety and operations with investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure understanding of ELD usage, pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Travel between terminals to conduct training and evaluations.
