Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery is seeking a Certified CDL Trainer to educate and evaluate CDL drivers, ensuring safety and DOT compliance across our fleet. You will mentor new hires, conduct hands-on and behind-the-wheel training, and support ongoing driver development in a fast-paced transportation environment.

Responsibilities include classroom instruction, ride-alongs, evaluations, and coaching on safety policies, hours of service, and vehicle inspections.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL Class A license with acceptable driving record.
• Certified CDL Trainer certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
• Experience training, mentoring, or coaching drivers is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and transportation safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom, hands-on, and behind-the-wheel training for CDL drivers.
• Train drivers on DOT, FMCSA, OSHA and company safety policies.
• Perform ride-alongs, road evaluations, and driver assessments for safety and compliance.
• Provide coaching and corrective training on incidents, hours of service, backing, and inspections.
• Assist with onboarding and orientation of new drivers.
• Monitor driver performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
• Support safety and operations teams with investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure drivers understand ELD usage and trip inspections.
• Travel between terminals to conduct training and evaluations.
