Job summary

Transit Team, Inc. is seeking a CDL Trainer to provide classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction to CDL applicants and existing drivers, preparing them for knowledge exams, pre-trip inspections, basic vehicle control, and road skills while enforcing safe bus operations and company safety standards.

The position offers an eight-hour day, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM with no midday break deduction, year-round work, and a starting rate of $28.00 per hour plus a $3,000 hiring bonus; you will

Qualifications

• CDL Class B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements required.
• Minimum two years holding a Class B CDL with P/S endorsements.
• Strong knowledge of safe commercial and school bus driving practices.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate instructions clearly and effectively.
• Ability to coach individuals with varying levels of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction to CDL applicants and drivers.
• Prepare trainees for knowledge tests, pre-trip inspections, basic vehicle control, and road skills examinations.
• Teach and reinforce safe school bus operation and defensive driving.
• Evaluate trainee performance and provide coaching and feedback.
• Maintain training records and trainee progress.
• Cover school bus routes or field trips when training demand is low.
