Job summary

Transit Team in Minnesota is hiring a CDL Trainer to deliver classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction for CDL applicants and current drivers. You will guide knowledge exams, pre-trip inspections, and road skills while maintaining comprehensive training records and ensuring safe operations.

The role emphasizes coaching, safety, and professional conduct, with a consistent 8:00 AM–4:00 PM weekday schedule and a $3,000 hiring bonus. Training and transportation duties may arise as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• Hold a Class B CDL with P and S endorsements for at least two years.
• Strong knowledge of safe commercial and school bus driving practices.
• Ability to coach individuals with varying driving experience and learning styles.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction to CDL applicants and existing drivers.
• Prepare trainees for knowledge, pre-trip inspection, basic vehicle control, and road skills exams.
• Evaluate trainee performance and deliver coaching and feedback.
• Maintain training records and driver training files accurately.
• Cover school bus routes and field trips when training demand is low.
