Job summary

City of Waco is seeking a reliable driver/operator for the Public Works Department, Solid Waste Division. The role operates sanitation trucks or specialized heavy equipment at the landfill or transfer station, with duties rotating based on needs.

Requires a Texas Class B CDL within 90 days, a written permit, and at least 6 months of heavy equipment or commercial vehicle experience; HS diploma or GED preferred. Overtime/after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Texas Class B CDL required within 90 days.
• Applicant must hold a written permit at time of application.
• 6 months of heavy equipment operations and/or commercial vehicle experience.
• Preferred: HS Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Operates sanitation trucks to collect and transport materials to the City landfill, transfer station, and recycling center; or operates specialized heavy equipment at the landfill or transfer station disposal facilities.
• May be required to respond after hours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency.
