Job summary

City of Maypearl is seeking a Solid Waste Equipment Operator to operate and maintain a fleet of municipal waste collection vehicles on daily routes in Texas. The role requires a Class B CDL and readiness for emergency and after-hours coverage.

Responsibilities include route documentation, customer communications, vehicle inspections, and routine maintenance. Training in safety and environmental compliance is expected. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• State of Texas Class B CDL is required.
• Available for emergency response and catastrophic weather events.
• Available for after hour support including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of solid waste collection equipment on daily routes, ensuring safety of people and property.
• Check daily work assignments and maintain a route sheet, notify customers of issues, and report service concerns.
• Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance on equipment; report malfunctions; clean and service vehicle as needed.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and ensure mobile camera system is functioning.
• Coordinate new customer accounts and document collection verification in the routing system.
• Report injuries, vehicle incidents, or property damage to supervisor.
• Participate in required safety, environmental compliance, and hazardous waste training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
