Job summary

Recology Portland Inc. seeks a safety-minded vehicle operator responsible for daily safety checks, pre-trip inspections, and efficient operation across service areas in Portland.

You will load materials, ensure regulatory compliance, report incidents, maintain good customer relations, and perform other duties as assigned. One year of commercial driving experience preferred; CDL and medical card required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience; two years preferred.
• Understanding of safety practices, state and local regulations including waste regulations.
• Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicle.
• Operates vehicle in all service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads assigned materials and reports any violations to supervisor.
• Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Ensures materials being transported meet legal load limits.
• Reports all accidents or safety violations promptly.
• Maintains good customer relations and supports the company image.
• Other duties as assigned.
