Job summary

Airgas is seeking a CDL Route Driver for Knoxville, TN to safely transport and deliver compressed gas cylinders and related products on designated routes. You will manage loading/unloading, document transactions, and maintain vehicle safety through inspections.

The role requires a Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement (or ability to obtain within 60 days), 1 year of driving experience, and a commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service on every delivery.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Class A CDL is required.
• Hazmat endorsement or able to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 5 years.
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification required.
• Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs, occasionally 76+ lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Maintains a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes.
• Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure satisfaction.
• Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures.
• Handle loading and unloading of all materials.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues for safety compliance.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company during deliveries.
