Job summary

Veit is looking for a CDL driver to deliver and pick up roll-off containers in and around the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro and surrounding area. You will be responsible for timely deliveries, adherence to safety standards, and proper billing via a handheld/Android device.

Expect 8–12 hour shifts, with possible weekends. This is a union-based role with benefits such as a 401(k) and Employee Assistance Program.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED with six months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent
• Class A or B CDL
• DOT medical card
• Experience using email and electronic tracking or ability to learn new software
• Ability to read maps and navigate with GPS
• Adherence to safety rules and Veit policies
• Ability to communicate with Dispatch and customers clearly
• Willingness to work 8–12 hour shifts, Mon–Fri with possible weekends

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up roll-off containers
• Stay informed of local road conditions, traffic, and detours
• Complete work orders on Android tablet for customer billing
• Ensure compliance with DOT hours-of-service and coordinate with Dispatch
• Represent Veit professionally on site and on the road
• Communicate pickup/delivery changes to Dispatch
• Notify dispatcher or sales of future jobsite leads
• Maintain clean appearance of equipment and perform pre/post-trip inspections
• Coordinate with mechanics to schedule repairs
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
