Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a Roll Off Driver in Columbus, IN to service customers with waste and recycling collection and hauling. The role involves delivering and removing roll-off containers, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with dispatch for additional work orders.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of CDL driving experience, basic truck maintenance knowledge, and the ability to work with both manual and automatic transmissions.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years CDL truck driving experience preferred.
• General knowledge of truck mechanics.
• Licensed to operate both manual and automatic transmission preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
• Climb to hook/unhook containers, move items to smooth the load and secure tarps
• Communicate with dispatch on additional work orders to ensure quality customer service
• Maintain and update route & driver log sheets
• Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs
• Visually inspect roll off containers and ensure proper load securement to prevent loss of trash and debris
• Clean up areas located around compactor when servicing customers as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned truck
• Professionally interact with internal and external customers to provide excellent customer service
• Perform other duties as assigned
