Job summary

Waste Pro in Venice, FL, is seeking a qualified refuse collection driver to operate a range of waste trucks on assigned routes, perform inspections, and supervise route helpers. You will ensure safe, timely pickups for garbage, yard waste, and recyclables while maintaining vehicle cleanliness.

Ideal candidates hold a Class A or B CDL, with at least 2 years of waste-driving experience, strong English communication, and ability to work 8–12 hour shifts in varied weather. DOT compliance is required.

Qualifications

Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works.
Requires a safe driving record.
Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of DOT requirements for commercial motor vehicles.
Speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Safely drives truck on pre-established route and collects/dumps garbage and recyclables.
Supervises helpers on assigned route and ensures timely pickups.
Performs Daily Pre and Post Trip inspections and completes safety checks.
Maintains truck cleanliness and performs routine maintenance tasks.
Completes required reports and documents; may assist other routes or events as needed.
