Job summary

Wind River Environmental is seeking a Pump Technician in Columbia, SC to perform residential and commercial pumping of non-hazardous waste, operating a company service truck and engaging with customers. A CDL with tanker endorsement is required, and the role follows day shifts with safety and DOT compliance emphasized.

Base pay range is $26.00 - $29.00 hourly at posting; final pay depends on location, education, experience and skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must hold a Class A or B CDL with ability and willingness to obtain a tanker endorsement if requested.
• No restrictions (must be able to drive manual transmission).
• At least 21 years of age.
• At least one year of professional commercial driving experience.
• Ability to pass DOT drug screen, medical certification, physical exam and road exams.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and exercise safe work practices in accordance with WRE and DOT requirements.
• Prepare for each service job to maximize efficiency by following daily pre-trip and post-trip maintenance.
• Perform customer service interaction on site to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Observe and note defective septic components and hazards, and recommend maintenance or service.
• Complete and submit quotes and service paperwork to management when required.
• Respond to trouble or emergency calls in a timely manner.
• Discuss and recommend adequate maintenance service frequency with the customer.
• Follow Wind River Environmental service protocols.
