Qualifications

• Valid CDL B with clean driving record.
• Tanker endorsement required and hazmat endorsement strongly desired.
• Must be able to drive manual transmissions.
• Overtime as required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation and safe practices.
• Familiarity with government documents such as manifests.
• Loading and unloading of trucks.
• Perform trip inspections on equipment and load.
• Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation and transportation rules.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions and check loading equipment.
• Check vehicles for mechanical and safety readiness.
• Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service status.
• Record and maintain required documentation (bills of lading, manifests).
• Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
• Deliver paperwork and product to customers courteously and timely.
• Ensure debris from loading/unloading is cleaned up.
• Train others when required.
