Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services is seeking motivated Herbicide Applicator Technicians to control weeds, grass, and brush along roadsides and right-of-way while safely operating herbicide application equipment. Duties include operating spray trucks and performing equipment maintenance, with emphasis on safety policies and environmental regulations.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, Class B CDL, valid license with 5+ years driving history, ability to travel 2–3 weeks at a time, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Class B CDL required.
• Valid driver’s license with 5+ years of clean driving history.
• Ability to travel for up to 2–3 weeks at a time.
• DOT drug screen, DOT physical, background check and MVR review required.
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator License preferred or ability to obtain within six months.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs or more.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Apply herbicides to roadsides, rights-of-way, guardrails, utility poles, curbs and other areas to control weeds and brush.
• Operate and maintain spray trucks, ATVs, backpack sprayers, hose systems and other vegetation management equipment.
• Perform daily inspections, calibration and minor maintenance on vehicles and spray equipment.
• Maintain documentation including application records, labels and SDS.
• Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements and environmental regulations.
• Drive attenuator trucks and perform other duties as assigned.
• Safely operate herbicide equipment and understand proper application methods.
• Identify common weeds, grasses and brush to ensure effective treatment.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Work safely in diverse outdoor weather conditions.
