Job summary

Amwaste Of Georgia is seeking a CDL Commercial FEL Driver to safely operate waste collection trucks on a designated route and engage with customers to provide reliable service within the community.

This full-time position requires a Class B CDL and at least two years of heavy-truck experience. No overnight travel is required, with competitive pay and rich benefits including 401K, paid vacation from day one, and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior experience driving heavy commercial trucks.
• Class B CDL.
• Experience in auto loading garbage trucks is not required but is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order.
• Safely operate heavy truck along designated route to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer on the route.
• Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers and others daily to ensure routes are serviced timely and professionally.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers per departmental procedures.
• Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, DVIR and other reports, as required.
• Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
