Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions in Chesterfield, VA is seeking a CDL Driver to transport equipment and crews to job sites under DOT regulations. The role may also involve rigging or crating work and requires safe handling of loads.

You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, operate various trailers, manage load securement, and complete required paperwork daily. A Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements and several years of CDL experience are expected, along with teamwork and safety

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL with Air Brakes and Combo endorsements.
• Minimum two years proven CDL driving experience.
• Minimum three years proven experience in construction service industry.
• Basic knowledge of operating equipment (Forklifts, man lifts, etc.).
• Experience with load securement and safe hauling practices.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and hand/power/pneumatic tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections daily.
• Drive tractor-trailer rigs under DOT regulations to transport equipment to job sites.
• Handle loads securely: tarping, tie-downs, and proper loading/unloading.
• Operate electronic logging and comply with safety requirements.
• Perform rigging, crating work as needed and assist with related tasks.
• Complete required paperwork daily and maintain housekeeping in work areas.
