Job summary

MEI is hiring a CDL Driver in Chesterfield, VA to safely operate tractor-trailer combinations under DOT regulations and to assist with rigging and crating as needed.

The role requires load securement, daily pre/post-trip inspections, and accurate paperwork. Candidates should have a Class A CDL with air brakes and several years of driving experience, and be able to work well in a team setting on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Possess valid Class A CDL with Air brakes and combo endorsements.
• Minimum two (2) years proven driving experience at CDL level.
• Minimum three (3) years proven experience or comparable field preferably within the construction service industry.
• Basic knowledge of operating equipment (Forklifts, man lifts, mobile platform lifts, etc.)
• Experienced knowledge of load securement and safe hauling practices.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment; hand, power and pneumatic tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections daily.
• Drive tractor and trailer rigs to transport equipment to job sites under DOT regulations.
• Handle loads safely, secure, tarp, and tie-down as required.
• Perform electronic logging and daily paperwork.
• Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability.
• Install and align rigging, use hand and power tools for setup and repair.
