Job summary

The Prince George's County Department of Public Works & Transportation (DPW&T) is seeking a CDL Operator I (Equipment Operator 1A) in the Office of Storm Drain Maintenance. This role requires safe operation of light to medium equipment on road maintenance projects in Forestville, MD.

Responsibilities include equipment operation, pre/post-trip inspections, and participating in safety and emergency programs. Valid CDL with airbrake/tanker endorsements and DOT medical cert are required; outdoor

Qualifications

Completion of a standard grade school course.
One (1) year of experience operating light to medium motorized equipment.
A valid Class A, Class B, or equivalent commercial driver's license (CDL) with airbrake and tanker endorsements.
DOT medical exam completed.
Must be willing to work outdoors in any weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Operate light to medium equipment such as street sweepers, dump trucks, and related vehicles.
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and routine maintenance tasks.
Assist with safety setup, traffic control, and site preparation for maintenance projects.
Maintain records and complete daily work logs and work orders.
Respond as an essential employee during Snow and Ice Control and emergency activations.
