Job summary

Cardinal Civil Contracting, LLC is hiring a Dump Truck Driver to keep site work moving across active job sites in the Raleigh area. The role supports grading, utility, and paving crews by hauling soil, aggregate, and debris between quarries, plants, and disposal sites.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, ensure load securement, and communicate with dispatchers and foremen to maintain a steady haul cycle. A valid CDL and DOT medical card are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year verifiable CDL driving experience operating tandem/tri-axle dump trucks.
• Ability to safely operate on active construction sites with spotter signals.
• Working knowledge of pre-trip inspections, load securement, tarping, weight limits, and Hours of Service.
• Comfort using an ELD, GPS, and a smartphone/tablet for dispatch and photos.
• High school diploma or GED; valid CDL with no restrictions and DOT medical card.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate tandem/tri-axle dump trucks to haul soil, aggregate, stone, rip rap, millings, and debris.
• Dump and spread material, load efficiently with spotter, and move safely around job sites.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects and maintain clean truck.
• Maintain Hours-of-Service records and ensure weight limits and tarping are compliant.
• Coordinate deliveries with dispatch, project managers, foremen, and flaggers.
