Cardinal Civil Contracting, LLC is seeking a Lowboy Driver to keep our Raleigh projects moving by safely transporting heavy construction equipment between yard, sites, and vendors. You will handle loading, securing, and delivering machines on a daily dispatch, while maintaining compliance with FMCSA rules.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL, DOT medical card, and experience hauling heavy equipment such as excavators and dozers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer driving experience, including 1 year hauling heavy construction equipment.
• Valid Class A CDL with DOT medical card and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsabilités

• Operate a Class A tractor and lowboy trailer to haul heavy equipment between yard, job sites, dealers, and repair shops on a daily dispatch schedule.
• Plan routes for oversize/overweight loads and obtain permits; coordinate escort/pilot vehicles when required.
• Safely load and unload equipment; secure loads per FMCSA cargo securement rules; inspect and recheck security during transit.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections; maintain rig cleanliness and address any defects.
• Maintain accurate Hours-of-Service logs via ELD and submit paperwork on time.
