Job summary

CJ Hughes Construction, Inc. is seeking a CDL-A or CDL-B Truck Driver to support Water and Sewer Construction crews. This role splits time between driving (50%) and laboring (50%), with manual work and operation of vehicles and equipment on outdoor job sites.

The position requires lifting up to 75 lbs, safe operation around heavy equipment, and adherence to safety policies. Travel to different job locations may be required, and a valid CDL with DOT medical card is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A or CDL-B license per Fleet Policy
• Minimum 1 year CDL driving experience
• Minimum 1 year CDL license
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card
• HS Diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL-required vehicles including dump trucks, trailers, and equipment haulers over 26,000 lbs
• Haul equipment, pipe, materials, and debris to job sites
• Load, unload, and secure materials using chains, ratchet straps, and tarps
• Perform pre-shift inspections and complete required documentation
• Maintain driver logs as required
• Perform general labor on water and sewer crews
• Assist with hand digging and site preparation
• Lift up to 75 lbs regularly
• Work outdoors in varying weather and safety zones
• Follow safety policies and procedures and support crew productivity
