Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid CDL Class A, CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement and Air Brake Endorsement required.
• Clean MVR and at least 2 years of driving experience.
• Minimum 2 years of training, coaching, or instructional experience.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to teach and coach adult learners effectively.
• Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and required drug/alcohol screenings.
• Ability to successfully complete all required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom and behind-the-wheel CDL training for newly hired drivers.
• Deliver training per Starr standards, FMCSA regulations, and industry best practices.
• Evaluate driver performance and provide coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback.
• Conduct road evaluations and skills assessments.
• Provide refresher, remedial, and safety-focused training for current drivers as needed.
• Reinforce defensive driving techniques, passenger safety practices, and customer service expectations.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, ELDT, and state licensing requirements.
• Maintain accurate training records.
• Support driver development initiatives.
• Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
