Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a CDL driver to operate rear-load or automated-side load trucks on designated routes, delivering waste to facilities. You will assist helpers, back up safely, and interact with customers throughout the day.

Responsibilities include daily vehicle inspections, maintaining DOT logs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Applicants must be at least 21 and have a CDL or CDL school certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired, but not required.
• Possess valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Minimum one (1) year of commercial driving experience OR CDL school certificate.
• Must be able to meet safety sensitive functions according to Company standards.
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drives a rear-load, split body, curotto, or automated-side load truck along designated routes to collect waste and take to post-collection facilities.
• Assist helpers in loading solid waste into the truck hopper as route conditions require.
• Back up with helpers per Company policy and ensure safety compliance on route.
• Ensure DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations are followed and submit required reports.
• Interact courteously with customers and the public; notify supervisor of issues requiring action.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle condition reports.
