Job summary

PODS in Oklahoma City is seeking a delivery/driver associate responsible for loading and unloading containers at customer sites with a lift mechanism. You will maintain logs, assist with paperwork, and provide customer satisfaction through safe, reliable service.

The role requires a valid CDL Class B, DOT medical certification, and participation in a 2-week new hire program. Competitive pay and a sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL Class B license without air brake restriction.
• Current/valid driver license required.
• DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain 1-year cert.
• Attend 2-week New Hire Driver Training.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a commercial truck with lift to load/unload containers safely.
• Perform and log daily pre/post trip inspections of vehicle and lift.
• Accept add-on deliveries as required to meet business needs.
• Use handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation.
• Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane.
• Clean and inspect containers for delivery readiness.
• Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with customers.
• Communicate with Driver Lead/Market Manager on questions or issues.
• Perform repairs of containers and lifts in field/storage center.
• Provide backup for storage center functions when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of truck cab.

Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for delivery and pickup of containers to and/or from customer locations; provide an effective and incident free delivery or pickup of a container while maintaining excellent rapport with the customer.

Sign on Bonus and Pay

Sign on Bonus $2,500

$22.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers at customer sites in a safe manner by following all safety rules
• Perform and log daily pre and post trip inspections of commercial vehicle and lift
• Accept add-on deliveries as required to meet business needs
• Use company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation
• Operate a forklift and/or an overhead crane
• Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery to customer
• Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with the customer
• Communicate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager on customer questions and/or issues; Prepare driver notes as needed
• Perform repairs of containers and lifts in the field and at the storage center
• Provide backup for storage center functions when needed
• Maintain cleanliness of truck cab (keep free from debris inside and outside)
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities

• Typically reports to Management. Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include: Market Manager, Territory Manager
• Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management)

Pay Range and Benefits

Pay Range: 21.44-22.00 per_hour

Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity. A reasonable estimate of the current wage range is listed below.

Job Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid CDL Class B License Required without air brake restriction
• Must maintain a current/valid driver license
• Must meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards
• Must be at least 21 years of age (insurance requirement)
• Possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain a minimum of a 1 year certification (DOT requirement)
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software preferred
• Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
• Ability to attend required 2-week New Hire Driver Training Program
