Job summary

Renda Building Company in New Sharon, IA is seeking a CDL Driver/Laborer. The role blends driving with hands-on labor outdoors, with a standard Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00am to 5:00pm and occasional Saturdays.

You will operate equipment as needed and contribute to safe, high-quality work on multiple sites. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license; Class A CDL is preferred and the company will assist in obtaining one.

Renda Building Company is looking for a CDL Driver/Laborer. In our New Sharon location.

Must have:

• Dependability, able to work Monday-Friday 7:00am – 5:00pm with some possible Saturday’s.
• A strong desire to learn and work in all areas of the job, from the shovel to running equipment.
• Ability to adjust to changes quickly, customer demands will change priorities daily.
• Class A CDL (preferred), company will assist in obtaining one.
• Enjoys working outdoors in tough conditions, snow, rain, extreme heat.
• Follow all company rules and policies.
• Lead and always maintain safety standards.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Take pride in the quality of work being performed.
• Equipment operating experience is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Desire to learn and grow with a growing company.
• Travel may be possible from time to time.
• Other duties as needed.

Work expectations:

Standard Work Week: Monday-Friday; 7 am – 5 pm; Weekend work may be required with little or no notice; work schedule determined by season, weather, deadlines, and availability of work

Travel: at times, the employee may be assigned to a job site where several overnight stays are required

Environment Conditions: at times will be exposed to various contaminants, like exhausted vapors, gas/diesel fumes, and dust; be subjected to noisy conditions; diverse weather conditions, including high heat (over 90°), freezing conditions (below 15°), and all forms of precipitation (high humidity/snow/rain)

Physical Conditions: Able to frequently move objects weighing in excess of 100lbs for distances greater than fifty feet; remain in a stationary position for several hours; able to move from one location to another around the Jobsite; must be able to manipulate various controls on equipment; ability to constantly be able to reposition oneself.
