Job summary

PVS DX, Inc. is hiring for a CDL Class A driver responsible for safe preload and transport of hazardous materials and gases across states. This role requires Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, strict adherence to DOT/FMCSA regulations, and reliable, on-time performance.

Expect long shifts, safety-first duties, and potential plant-to-location travel within the region. Ideal candidates will have a clean MVR/PSP, ability to operate manual transmissions, and reside near Sweetwater, TX.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 25 years of age.
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements.
  • Ability to operate a Manual Transmission Tractor.
  • Two years’ verifiable experience operating a Commercial Tractor Trailer Tanker.
  • Clear FMCSA Clearinghouse and satisfactory MVR & PSP.
  • Ability to operate commercial vehicles across state lines.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Reliable transportation and stable employment history.
  • Candidate must reside in or around the Sweetwater, Texas area.

Responsibilities

  • Safe preload and transport of chemicals and/or compressed gases in cargo tank trucks and liquid bulk tankers.
  • Perform safe loading/unloading, inspections, yard checks, and documentation.
  • Adhere to DOT and FMCSA regulations for hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment; ensure compliance with safety protocols.

Job description

PVS DX, Inc, is a nationwide manufacturer and distributor of compressed gases and other water treatment chemicals. We are a safety conscious employer: the safety, security and welfare of fellow workers, the community and the environment are our #1 priority.

Our drivers are responsible for the safe preload and transport of chemicals and/or compressed gases in cargo tank trucks & liquid bulk tankers to and from loading plant to terminal yard. Safe pre and post inspections, yard checks, equipment maintenance and documentation, etc. Other duties may be assigned.

Ability to:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy hoses, cylinders, equipment (often 50-75 lbs. or more) during loading, unloading and maintenance task
  • Loads and unloads cargo tanks, performing appropriate actions in the proper sequence
  • Frequently exerts forces equivalent to lifting up to 25 pounds or occasionally 50 pounds
  • May sit for long periods of time while driving
  • Prepares driver’s logs and other transportation documents
  • Works alone most of the normal workday
  • Works with delivery deadlines
  • Observes and responds promptly to changing conditions, such as traffic, weather, and road conditions
  • Visually inspects vehicles, loaded materials and unloading facilities at customer locations
  • Read and understand training materials
  • Wear required safety equipment
  • Provide quick reaction or immediate response to required situations

Required education and experience

  • Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements Required
